Maclaine’s Maps

Four chambers

The shape of an honest problem.

I · Map

Attend without display. What is here, what moves, what binds. No preferred future yet.

II · Ideal

A named good, clear enough to be missed when ignored.

III · Gap

The mismatch. Small burdens often gather here until the path is hard to see.

IV · Path

One step that alters the gap. If it cannot be walked soon, it remains a wish.

These chambers are not ornament. They are the working rooms of a practice: measuring table, clear lamp, fault line, open door.
